Unveiling the Grandeur of Wisconsin's Iconic State Fair

Livestock Barns: A Showcase of Agricultural Excellence

The Wisconsin State Fair is a testament to the state's rich agricultural heritage, and the livestock barns are the beating heart of this celebration. Thousands of animals, from majestic horses to fluffy sheep, will grace the fairgrounds, each one a testament to the hard work and dedication of their exhibitors. These young competitors, some as young as eight years old, pour their hearts into preparing their animals for the coveted livestock shows, where they will compete in open and junior divisions, vying for the chance to be crowned champions. One such competitor, Levi Dulmes of Dulmes Family Boer Goats, has been a fixture at the fair since he was a child. "When COVID hit, we were all pretty caught off guard with the State Fair being canceled," he reflects. "But with it being back, I think every year we're grateful that we're able to be here and we're able to show." The fair holds a special place in the hearts of these exhibitors, serving as a celebration of their agricultural roots and a platform to showcase their hard-earned skills.
